About Me

I'm Bryan, a Biophysics graduate student at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  I just graduated from Purdue University with degrees in Liberal Arts and Neurobiology.  It took me a good 19 years, but I fell in love with science my freshmen year.  Up until that point, it had always been misrepresented-- in schools, in churches, and (sometimes) in my home.



As a result, this blog contains a lot about science!  It also has the occasional post on philosophy, politics, education, literature, or nerdiness.

Hold it.  Just kidding!  That last one is freakin' everywhere in this blog.

I've gotten a little bit of flack about some of the science-y posts I've made.  It turns out that now and then people's religious sensibilities get offended by them.  Fortunately for me, I don't really care.  I'm more interested in the empirical knowledge of how the world is and how we can improve it than I am in your particular brand and interpretation of holy text.

I'm happily married to a great gal (see picture at right and draw your own conclusions).  She's absolutely fantastic, and is changing the world using community nutrition.  We love staying fit (yay, running!) and cooking awesome food together (for that one, see our other blog, here).
